Winter Reward

The final day of the Winter Reward Tournament took place last Saturday with the final 5 games being contested.

Games were of a lightning 4 end format with Powerplays in each game. Competition was very keen with many games highlighted by very close finishes. Premier League bowlers had to play in the lead role and much to their dismay and hair loss, watched on as their bowls were knocked out. Newcomer Kevin Bucket’s team of Bronwen Taylor, first time bowler Geoff Beard, Dave Robinson and Ross Taylor was the best performing team in Week 2, winning an amazing 4.5 games out of 5. The overall result was in the balance right up until the last end. Heather Karpiniec’s team of Brad Knight as lead, Alan Trott and George Botica as twos and Peter Seccombe as three, triumphed by 1 win over Dennis Mansfield, Stevie Lanning, Wayne Newman, ‘Dasher’ James and Teresa Newman. All players played with great spirit and embraced a very different format that was new to Cremorne. Thanks to our hard-working organisers, Peter ‘Jimmy’ Barnes (Infrastructure Manager), Wally Webster (Media and Graphic Design), Dennis Mansfield (Barista), Peter ‘Trevor’ Seccombe (Dietitian) and Ronny Waters (Tournament Organiser).
